The Common Errors that Coaches Coach

Approach Errors

 - and Video #3

7.         The hitting approach looks different than the shot approach – Stop it and do it Right –

Plant and jump as hard as you can every time you attack! Your plant jump is the foundation of your attack - give it everything you got!

8.     The hitting and shot approach is more than 2 steps – Stop it and do it Right! (this is not indoor volleyball!)

The approach is one step and then a VERY large aggressive 2 footed plant ‘step’.

9.     Jumping forward instead of jumping straight up and trying to hit the ball in front of you – Stop it and do it Right! (what did I just say about indoor volleyball, oh yea, THIS IS NOT INDOOR VOLLEYBALL!)

Take a few short adjustments steps then 1 step and your plant jump step right under the ball.

10.   Not jumping being balanced, off of 2 feet, on top of the sand in a deep squat with both of your arms outstretched behind you– Stop it and do it Right!

So - be balanced, on two feet (your feet shoulf be about shoulders width apart but on the same ‘plane’), in a deep “chair level” squat, with both your arms outstretched behind you.
