Setting and Passing Errors - Part ll

 - and Video #5

15.     You don’t focus on getting your feet and your body in the best possible position – Stop it and do it Right! – (this is a lot like # 13, and needs to be said about 1000 more times!)

Whether you are passing, setting, hitting, blocking or digging, MOVE YOUR FEET and STOP trying to play the game with just your arms and hands. THIS IS A MAJOR KEY TO CONSISTANT BALL CONTROL!

16.     Passing to the middle of the court (unless you want your set in the middle of the court) – Stop it and do it Right!

The pass should be within 3 feet of the net and almost directly in front of you / slightly off center of your position, rather than to the center of the court.

If you are passing from the left pass the ball to 1 o’clock on a imaginary clock dial; if you are passing from the right, pass to 11 o’clock on a imaginary clock dial.

17.     Passing to the setter rather than where you want the setter to go so they can give you the best set – Stop it and do it Right!

Pass the ball to the place that gives you the best opportunity to attack the ball knowing that the set is going to end up about 3 to 6 feet away from the setter and 1-2 feet off the net.

You don’t  want the set coming over your shoulder / from behind you if at all possible.
