Setting and Passing Errors

 - and Video #4

11.     When Hand setting, you hold onto the ball, and or let the ball drops below your chin when you hand set – Stop it and do it Right!

Setting is setting, it is not catching! Don’t let the ball get below the level of your chin

12.     The shoulders and hips don’t face the EXACT direction of the set – Stop it and do it Right!

Turn your entire body in the exact direct of where you want the set to go BEFORE you make contact with the ball.

13.     Poor Ball Control – you and your partner rarely know where the ball is going to go or is supposed to go – Stop it and do it Right!

Without making ball control your #1 focus you will never be the very best you can be.

The main reason for poor ball control is because you don’t OVER emphasizing getting the ball to go where you want it to go with your entire body, whether you are passing or setting. – Stop it and do it Right!

Make every play with your entire body while minimizing arm and hand movement!

14.     You swing your arms a lot when passing or bump setting, meaning the follow through of your hands goes higher than your chest – Stop it and do it Right!

Pass and set with your feet, legs, hips and shoulders FIRST -  your arm movements need to be minimized and very controlled.
